2025 Impact
2025 was a year of more for the IGDA Foundation: more people reached, more touchpoints with our community, and more alumni uplifting others.
Through our core GDC and Virtual Exchange programs, we continued to provide deep, transformative support to grantees, while expanding our broader community outreach with initiatives like the GDC Resume & Portfolio Review, BIPOC Virtual Career Fair, and events at PAX West and beyond. Powered by our alumni volunteers rather than big budgets or flashy campaigns, we’re quietly making a big impact: connecting underrepresented developers to opportunities, peers, and mentors at a scale that grows every single year.

Virtual Exchange 65 grantees
In its 6th year, the IGDA Foundation’s Virtual Exchange remains our most impactful program, connecting diverse game developers worldwide and driving collaboration, professional growth, and access to new opportunities across the games industry.
GDC 11 grantees
In 2025, we continued to build on the success of our 2024 in-person program with a cohort of 11 grantees, all of whom were alumni of our Virtual Exchange programs between 2020 - 2024.

In support of a more connected and inclusive industry, we launched a new Resources section on our website to highlight organizations advancing opportunities for game developers around the world.
