IGDA Foundation prepares for second Download for Charity (DLC) sale on Steam
The IGDA Foundation is returning with its second annual IGDA Foundation’s “Download for Charity” (DLC) event happening March 27 – April 6, 2026 on Steam.
Alyssa Walles, executive director at the IGDA Foundation, said in an interview with GamesBeat at the Dice Summit that there is still time for game developers to participate in the event, where developers selling games on Steam can donate a portion of their proceeds to the IGDA Foundation, which helps build a sustainable game development community.
Walles said the event was a big source of donations last year and it’s truly a win-win for participating games. In 2025, BHVR, Atari, and Double Fine participated and their games saw an uplift of five times the 13 times over their typical sales for that same period.
